Fertility 2022 the 15th joint meeting between the BFS, ARCS and SRF took place between 5 January and 8 January. The meeting was planned to be a traditional face to face event, but due to the Omicron Covid outbreak had to be pivoted to a virtual experience. We are delighted to report that we had 784 attendees representing 34 countries (from 6 continents) giving the conference a truly international flavour!
Novel and exciting research was presented in our 78 short papers and our 198 posters proved particularly popular with 6698 views. The poster session moving from the traditional paper format to a digital presentation has proved very innovative with the introduction of video and animation. The highest attendance update session was “Artificial intelligence: clinical update” and the highest attendance short paper session was the SRF PhD Prize session.
There were so many highlights of the meeting including both celebrating the past and looking to the future horizons of our specialties. We owe a big thankyou to all our speakers for such wonderful presentations, our organising committee members and secretariat for working so hard behind the scenes, our sponsors for their generous support, but most of all the attendees for supporting the meeting and engaging in the discussions and question times.
We are already planning Fertility 2023 to take place between 12 – 14th January in Belfast. We very much hope to return to the traditional in-person format, but given our recent experience with Covid will need to retain the agility to retain virtual and hybrid options. Please hold these dates in your diaries. We look forward to welcoming you to Fertility 2023 in Belfast!
