Human Fertility – publication waivers

Human Fertility is now a fully open access journal, which means that some authors will need to pay a publication fee, if open access publication is not covered by their Grant. However, we have a number of editorial waivers available solely for BFS members which means that you may be able to publish your research in Human Fertility for free!

If you have been a BFS member for at least 2 years and you are first or last author, you could be entitled to a waiver of the Article Publishing Charge (APC) when choosing to publish your article in Human Fertility. Waivers must be requested and approved prior to submission of your manuscript to the journal. To request a waiver please:

1. Send your manuscript to humanfertilityjournal@gmail.com with a request for a waiver of the APC.
2. Your manuscript will then undergo an editorial review for suitability.
3. You will be notified of the suitability of your manuscript for a waiver.
4. If your request is approved, your waiver code will be sent to you by email with instructions for submission and you can then proceed with submitting your manuscript to the journal.
5. The waiver code must be used at the time of submission – waiver codes cannot be applied retrospectively – so please do not submit your manuscript to the journal until your waiver request has been approved.

We have a limited number of waivers available each calendar year and these are allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Your APC may also be covered if the corresponding author is affiliated with one of the organisations that the publisher has an open access agreement in place with.
