CfG establishing a panel of expert advisors

The CfG is establishing a panel of Expert Advisers to help them improve access to expert advice during development and updating of clinical guidelines and other CfG products. Panel members will be invited to contribute to activities such as:
• Giving advice – for example on the impact of new evidence in relation to updating the guidance.
• Participating in committees as a topic specialist member.
• Performing peer reviews – for example reviewing a component of the guideline such as an evidence review or economic model.

They are seeking clinicians and other healthcare professionals from a variety of specialties and who are actively involved in the NHS. Involvement will be specific to the projects that members are invited to contribute to.

NICE will pay travel and subsistence expenses for attendance at meetings in line with its policy for non-staff.

The tenure of membership to the panel of Expert Advisers will be for a period of 3 years in the first instance.
