Patient satisfaction remains high in latest HFEA report

The HFEA has published its latest National Patient Survey, which shows that patient satisfaction with treatment remains very high at 70%, although patients of black and Asian heritage reported lower satisfaction rates. NHS patients on average experienced longer waiting times than those patients being treated privately and around 3/4 of patients used additional treatments (add ons).

‘It’s terrific that despite the many challenges that healthcare is facing at the moment, patient satisfaction with their fertility treatment remains high. We would encourage the government to consider the importance of NHS fertility treatment provision and to encourage full implementation of the published NICE recommendations. We recommend that patients being offered ‘add-ons’  consult the HFEA website for details of their efficacy and also speak to their clinical team as to why they are being recommended.’
