Requirements
Final programme: A final programme is produced all meetings and the BFS would like to include your biography (no longer than 200 words) and an abstract (no longer than 300 words). For the BFS Training Courses, it is possible to include your PowerPoint presentation as hand out slides within the final programme.
PowerPoint presentation: Please ensure that you bring a copy of your presentation on a memory stick, CD or floppy disc and report to the appropriate lecture theatre at least two hours before your presentation.
Speaker’s registration form: For administrative purposes please ensure that a completed Speakers registration form is sent to the conference organiser.
Speaker Deadlines
Speaker’s registration form: No later than 2 weeks after official invitation
Abstract & biography deadline: At least 1 month prior to the meeting
Presentation deadline: At least 2 weeks prior to a meeting, ensuring that you bring a back up copy to the meeting. The deadline is essential for MAC presentations and presentations including video clips to ensure compatibility with on-site equipment.
Entitlements
Speaker Expenses: The British Fertility Society will reimburse reasonable travel expenses for economy travel. Expense forms must be completed with 3months of the meeting and sent to the Conference organiser.
Session Format
- The session chairperson will provide introductory comments if appropriate
- Speakers are requested to talk within their allocated time slot and not to over run
- Speakers should reserve 5 – 10 minutes for questions at the end of the session. You will be advised by your session chair.
Presentation Guidelines
The following are some helpful tips in regard to producing your presentation:
- The BFS does not have a presentation template; feel free to use your own.
- Avoid too much content on one slide
- Rehearse your presentation to ensure that it is fluid and fits within the allocated time
Day of Presentation
- On arrival at the meeting you should report to the registration desk in good time ie 45 minutes prior to the start of your talk. You will receive a name badge, any pre booked catering or social tickets and also the conference materials.
- Please ensure you bring a back up copy of your presentation
- Please announce yourself to the session chair
Room Set-up
Session rooms are equipped with the following if required:
- Data projector
- Screen
- Laptop
- Microphone
- Podium
- Head table for all speakers
