Accommodation

There is a wide variety of accommodation available in Leeds to suit all budgets.  Delegates of the BFS Annual Meeting are entitled to preferential rates at the Queens Hotel, Leeds. 

Attendee accommodation is being organized by our accommodation partner, Reservation Highway, a specialist hotel reservation service ensuring the best possible rates across differing accommodation options in Leeds.  Accommodation bookings can be made on-line with Reservation Highway. Awards

Competing presentations for the BFS awards will take place on Friday 6 January. Prizes available are detailed below. Please note that only BFS members' abstracts are eligible for consideration for prizes.

Abstracts must be submitted on-line for the meeting. 

Authors wishing to have their abstract considered for inclusion in a specific award session must be a member of the BFS and should consult the eligibility criteria listed on the awards pages of this website.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be confirmed in writing and accompanied by your confirmation letter and receipt. An administrative charge of £15 will be made on all cancellations received before or on 18 November 2011. The BFS cannot refund fees after this date for any reason, including ill health. Cancellations and refunds will be processed after the conference.

Directions

From the south
M621, M1 and M62 motorways follow the signs to Leeds city centre and train station, along Neville Street towards City Square. Pass under the railway bridge and at the traffic lights, take a left into the slip road in front of the hotel.

From the north
Take any main A road into Leeds and then follow signs for the train station which leads you round the city centre loop road. At the top of Neville Street, at the traffic lights, take a left into the slip road in front of The Queens. Chargeable valet parking is available for residential guests.

Bus Services
Buses to Leeds Bus and Coach Station and many other areas are from Boar Lane, just a 2 minute walk from the hotel.

The British Fertility Society recommends that all delegates take out insurance to cover their registration, travel and accommodation costs to cover the case that they are unable to attend or the event is cancelled for any unforeseen reason. The Society takes no responsibility for reimbursing delegates’ expenses in such cases.

Social Programme

Thursday 5 January 2012 – Informal Social Evening; 19:30
You are invited to join the BFS at the Piazza by Anthony Restaurant in the Leeds Corn Exchange for a 3 course meal and some light entertainment. The Corn exchange is a short walk from the main conference hotel. 

Tickets are priced at £25 (Early bird); £30 (standard) and £35 onsite (subject to availability).

Friday 6 January 2012 – Conference Dinner & Awards Presentation; 19:30
Please join the BFS for their Annual Conference Dinner on Friday 6 January 2012.  The conference room will be transformed into a dining hall where you will be greeted with a welcome drink from 19:30 and a 3 course meal will be served from 20:00. 

The BFS Awards will be presented after the meal. We are delighted to welcome Professor J Drife who will give an after dinner speech and the evening will be completed with music from local band Mo’Mojo. 

Tickets are priced at £45 (Early bird); £50 (standard) and £55 onsite (subject to availability).
